The Characterless Characters

Everything happening in our country seems like a new Hollywood Block Buster movie each day. Murders, mayhems, mafias and masterminds. Why? Only because hate begets hate. Buildings fall down and hardly we see any action. Mafias become proactive because they have had a breeding ground for almost 30 plus years. It takes a long time to clean a long-time mess. It is not in the nature of a Muslim to back down especially when the faith is in question. Bigger things are at play. Those that are not vain know. Those that are in pain seldom care. Those who still want to gain are getting agitated. A classic catch and mouse game is being played. Real life is different than Tom and Jerry.

 We are witnessing chaos around the world only because most of the people have never been taught the importance of character. The goal is to get a better paying job and not become a better human being. It’s about status rather than character building in our society. Whenever I see the evils of this society, I start remembering Death of a Salesman where Willy committed suicide in the end. He realizes that his entire life was a meaningless pursuit of nothingness. It rightly showed that Capitalism brings pain. Look around the world and you find out that it is one of the major reasons for chaos in the world.

One bad apple spoils the bunch. Several of them create several bad bunches and the end result becomes a spoilt and rotten country. Corruption, killings, terrorism and economic instability has made this country a common breeding ground for criminality. It is an infection that keeps on growing and disturbing. We had been on a path to self-destruction and it should not come as a surprise to anyone. What was thrown by the previous corrupt politicians/dictators is being witnessed by us. It’s quite clear that all this happened in a succession. This Wheat and sugar crisis was created mostly to undermine the success that the Government has achieved so far. Who can forget Javed Hashmi’s betrayal after 2013 elections. My reason of mentioning him was just to indicate that unfortunately PM Imran Khan has many hypocrites among him. Hopefully he will be able to identify them soon.

We are being troubled by so many inside and outside forces. You close your eyes and the next minute you hear something terrible. Hate has been brewing in our country for so long. All the people in love with the worldly desires often succumb to the world and thus go astray. May Allah guide and help us soon. Our country has been attacked by so many forces that it will take time to clean out the trash.

Escapists escaped as disgraced 'Escape Artists' yet they flaunt as if they have won a trophy. The courts keep on bailing and we keep on failing. The corrupt politicians have not just taken the Nation’s wealth and with that our self-respect. We have become a hub of social evils but made us morally corrupt as well. We are more worried about our next paycheque. This is what happens when a society’s foundations start getting laid on a pile of lies and loans on interest. Since interests are against the teachings of Islam, our society became further and further away from our Deen. Really happy that our country is on its way to become a Welfare State based on the model of Madina

Our society has become materialistic rather than realistic. TV shows showcase people going crazy over worldly goods and acting weirdly to get prizes instead of character building. Mothers are mostly interested in the seasonal sales than spending time with their children. We are being driven by temporary pleasures. Peace can only be achieved if we learn to live together without being envious of each other’s successes and help each other. We have to treat each other with respect otherwise it’s a downward spiral that will keep on going down the drain. The government can’t do it unless the Nation wakes up. Hopefully our Economic/digital progress will sooner or later start making this country perfect again because otherwise everyone has the same agenda to make the government weak. Insha Allah we will still rise as a strong nation because we are being exposed to all the problems and now we know where and how to fix. Fingers crossed. An Emerging Naya Pakistan is the right step towards progress.
